Show me your belly Jada

We took Jada for her xray on Thursday and while Dr. Williams at Arbor Vet thought we were a little early, we still did see six puppy spines & heads. We have a follow up xray scheduled on Monday August 6th for a clearer xray.


Jada has gained 9 1/2 lbs already on her normal food rations. We did switch her over to Purina Pro Plan large breed puppy food at 4 weeks.

We did our shopping this week and picked up the necessary items we were missing. John is going to put together the whelping box this week so we will be ready. I just need to pull together the scale and set up my log for weights.

Two more weeks and we will find out if we have both black and yellow puppies!

Puppies Coming in August!

Jada was breed on June 11 to a beautiful and sweet black lab named "Chips". Today is day 30 and we can feel puppy lumps. We expect puppies the first week of August and are hoping for a litter of both black and yellow puppies. Chips has the yellow gene as does Jada so the genetics work this time around. I will start updating the blog regularly now as well as tweet photos and updates.

Jada and Chips are both AKC registered and have hip, eye and other certifications. Their puppies will make great additions to families as well as good hunters.
